Dan Sebring

Dan Sebring is a Republican candidate for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 4th district. On August 12, 2014 he won the Republican nomination for the November 2014 general election defeating his primary election opponent by a 4 to 1 margin. He was the Republican nominee in 2010 and 2012 for Wisconsin's 4th congressional district seat.
Biography
The middle child of five, Sebring was born on June 27, 1957 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was raised in New Berlin, Wisconsin. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Sebring was diagnosed and treated for cancer at the Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in October 2006. Although he suffered related complications during recovery, Sebring remains cancer free to date. Sebring has owned and operated a Milwaukee auto repair shop since 1993.
Political career
Sebring campaigned for the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin's 4th congressional district as a write-in candidate in 2008
and then in 2010 and 2012 as the Republican nominee. He lost all three elections to incumbent Gwen Moore and has shown no interest in any public office other than the US House of Representatives.

Sebring was against the $800 billion economic stimulus and advocated for a balanced budget, adherence to free market principles, a sound monetary policy and keeping government intervention in the economy as minimal as possible. On March 29, 2014 the Republican Party of Wisconsin 4th District Committee held its annual caucus during which a straw poll of its delegates was held. Sebring received 65% of the vote among the three Republican candidates in the 2014 4th District primary race at that time.
