Dallas Defenders Football Club

Dallas Defenders Football Club is a semi-professional football team made up of members of the public safety community in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Every active player on the team is either a full time Police Officer, Fire-Fighter or EMT/Paramedic. The team plays in the National Public Safety Football League against public safety teams from all over the country. Players from the team purchase their own equipment and uniforms, and all proceeds from the games are given to local charities. Many local businesses sponsor the team to help them to cover their expenses.

History

The Defenders were established in early 2008 by Marc Courville and Jeff Price. Courville, who serves as the Team President, decided to form a NPSFL team based on the Eastern side of the DFW area and contacted Price, who was then player/coach of the DFW Panthers. Jeff accepted the Head Coach job and many of his players followed him to the Defenders. The Defenders played their first exhibiton game against the Central Texas Wolfpack on June 7th, 2008 and won. Another exhibition game is scheduled for Octboer 19th at the Defender's home stadium, FISD Memorial Stadium in Frisco, Texas
