Cyberkid

A Cyberkid (also known as a Crasherkid due to their intimate connection with the club Gatecrasher) is a person involved with the cyber clubbing fashion scene. The style is usually associated with electronic music styles such as trance and hard house.

Cyberkid clothing usually involves neon or "hyglo" colours such as pink, green, blue, yellow, orange, and purple. Items of dress can be anything in these colours, such as fluffy leg warmers(also known as gators), miniskirts, 3/4 length trousers, shorts, T-shirts, cloaks, vests, tank tops, and battery-powered flashing lights, such as an LED dog collar. Makeup is often used to form designs such as dots or swirls painted around the face, often with UV or glow-in-the-dark face paint. Accessories such as plastic, glowing bracelets (also known as kandy), watches, and dummies are also often worn.

Cyberstyle also includes the robot theme, in which the wearer is covered head to foot in glowing tubes or glowsticks around their clothing, giving the appearance of wires. Robotic parts are sometimes also temporarily glued to the body.

The cyberkid style was prominent around the turn of the millennium, however the numbers of crasher kids have declined because the owners of Gatecrasher wanted to keep away from the stereotype and changed the music styles being played. This helped drive the crasherkids out. However some still continue in smaller numbers and more subtle clothes. There are a number of clubbers who still turn out in "cyber" on nights out to keep the fashion going.
