Cult Values is a Swedish experimental rock band, founded in Nyköping in 2014 by high school students Jonas Eriksson, Erik Mohlin and Samuel Nordlöf Uppman. The band is known for their lingering style of post-rock, and noise rock improvisations. History The band was founded in 2014, by the members Jonas Eriksson (vocals and guitar), Erik Mohlin (drums and percussion) and Samuel Nordlöf Uppman (bass). After Samuel left the band in early 2015 the remaining two members recruited The bass player Daniel and second guitar player Alexander. They played and wrote music together until 2016, when Daniel left. Shortly after Alex was forced to leave and the band stood with only two remaining members, Jonas and Erik. With the help of temporary bass player and friend Markus Gustafsson they recorded their first EP, Lightlicker. It was released in early 2017, available on bandcamp. Without bass player the band stood still with the mild success of the previous EP. Jimmi Backlund, who joined in late 2016, after the recording of the EP, said in a disclosed interview that; "I hadn't met Jonas and Erik much since we all went to different schools after ninth grade. I did meet them both at a christmas party, that's when Jonas, quite intoxicated, asked me if I wanted to join the band. I said 'of course' even though I only had experience with the guitar. I didn't expect to hear from them again, I thought the proposition was only a drunken slur, but Erik asked me, 'so are you coming this thursday?' And that is how it happened." *bites sandwich* The band is currently working on their first studio album. Discography Extended play * Lightlicker (2017)
