California State University, San Bernardino is a station on Omnitrans bus rapid transit San Bernardino Express—sbX line. The station is located at the main entrance and on the southern portion of the campus of California State University, San Bernardino, near the John M. Pfau Library. The station entrances are on University Parkway and Northpark Drive in the San Bernardino University Heights neighborhood. The station is very popular with students and staff who commute to the university because of the high cost and low availability of parking around campus. Construction In 2008, the Omnitrans Transit Development Board began developing plans for a bus rapid line connecting CSUSB and Loma Linda University. Construction of the line began with construction of Verdemont Station and the CSUSB Transit Center. Design The station was designed by Gruen Associates of Los Angeles for Omnitrans and the local community. Main artwork is by Freya Bardell and Brian Howe. The station art will be based on the trees on campus; the trees on glass will have a rich blue color that dramatically contrasts surroundings. Some artwork on the station was designed with help by CSUSB students and faculty that reflects the university community at large. Bus connections Omnitrans: 2, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13
