Crystaliris-bluechevron

Crystaliris-Bluechevron (as one word) is a fictional department of defense in the Stargate Universe, the main purpose of the department is to aid Earth in its development of technology, Crystaliris-Bluechevron is located in New Mexico, USA, and is an underground structure that is 158 kilometres from Area 51.

History

Crystaliris-Bluechevron was founded in 1985, originally named Solaris-Orbital, the department was founded in conjunction with NASA's Space Shuttle program, the main reason being the continuing threat of the Cold War that was fading and fell as of 1989, the program never made it into a full working department that it was originally designed to do back in 1982, its Solaris project that was the augmentation of nuclear missiles in orbit to deliver global coverage was cancelled in 1990, and became the project Star Wars in 1996, since the discover of the Stargate and invested interest in 1997 when the program became active as of September 1994, the stargate program was continued and run from the SGC in Colorado up until present.

The main founders of Crystaliris-Bluechevron were Pierre Allock and Jonathan Jameson, their initial project to aid the Ministry of Defense was getting the missiles into orbit and so the project needed a base of operations, already a disused airforce base in New Mexico the project was funded in excess of $158 million to get the project up and running. The project, however, never got off the ground and neither did its missiles.

After the sudden death of Pierre Allock in 2000, the project was given new life under new management. In 2002 the project with the same name was worked in conjunction with the Stargate program offering defensive technologies and the project finally got its break in 2003 when a contract was given the co ahead to work upon alien technologies, a small offshoot of the Stargate project Crystaliris-Bluechevron played a major part in the defense of earth from alien attack and continues to grow as of 2006 moving into Earth's new hyperdrive ships and their defensive technologies on Asgard technology.

Crystaliris-bluechevron facility

The location or rather base of operations was first built in 1950 as a means of storage, the exceptional size and the relative ease of which the vast caverns and storage bays could be converted, differing in size from 200 sq foot to 7.000.000 sq foot in the main storage area referred to as the heart of the complex that was constructed upon the original design in 1986, at present the area most of which is hidden deep within the ground and down into the hard bedrock consists of the main hub of the structure (considered a tertiary location for the Stargate should both primary and secondary locations be unavailable)and 22 levels, offices, science labs and testing areas, but due to the nature of the projects original outlay of nuclear missiles much of the base is still storage, a beneficial factor for the secure storage of both earth and alien technologies that is Crystaliris-bleuchevron's main area of development.

Back in 1982 plans that had been hovering around the planing offices of the Government was that the base would be linked to its own sophisticated and mobile space shuttle launch pad, allowing the quick deployment of missiles into their station in orbit, however this idea didn't get the go ahead, and Nellis AFB was the preferred location with its relative close location and the excessive expenditure that the project of the most sophisticated and complex space shuttle launch site could offer in return.

Developments

Crystaliris-Bluechevron had developed a varied array of technology based on soviet cold war advances and alien technology, however the majority of these developments were cut from the project before completion.
