Crowdhorsing

Definition
Crowdhorsing is the practice of financing the purchase of a horse through crowd funding. The term crowdhorsing is derived from the term crowdsourcing.
Background
Horses are often owned by a small group of people, also known as a syndicate. Especially in horse racing it is quite common to see a racehorse that is owned by a group of individuals. As opposed to a syndicate where a small group of individuals (2-25) fund the purchase and cost of a horse, with crowdhorsing a horse is funded by a significantly large group of people. This could be anything from 500 to 50,000 individuals collectively funding one one or more (race) horses.
