Costa Campos

Costa Campos was a student of the honorable North-American Singer Grace Bumbry and of the distinctive Maestro Enza Ferrari with whom he currently works his singing and interpretation, Costa Campos, João Eduardo of Portuguese nationality is a Doctor in Law by the University of Lisbon.
Small appearances in theatre and cinema aid his decision to take an Actors Course in the Superior School of Theatre and Cinema of the Conservatório Nacional in Lisbon where he highlights his work with Maria Germana Tânger and Águeda Sena.
He later initiated his singing studies with Maria Cristina de Castro to be continued with Hugo Casaes, Natália Viana, Elsa Saque (in the Juventude Musical Portuguesa and the Conservatório Nacional) and Liliane Bizineche.
He became a permanent singer of the São Carlos Opera House Choir (Teatro Nacional de São Carlos), where he perfected his technique with singers like Ivo Vinco and Jeff Lawton. He recorded, with other singers, “Os Madrigais Camoneanos” by Luís Freitas Branco.
He debuted as a soloist at the Ruins of Carmo ()performing D.Basilio in “Il Barbieri di Siviglia” by Rossini conducted by Maestro Jon Latham Koenig. He starred as Judas in “O Nazareno” at the Lisbon and Oporto Coliseums, as La Diva in “Zarzuelas Cabaret and Olé Olé “ at the São Luiz Municipal Theatre, as the Marquis d’Obigny in a production of Pier Luigi Pizzi of “La Traviata” by Verdi at the São Carlos Opera House conducted by Maestro Giuliano Carella, as Senator Robert E. Lyons in Gershwin’s musical “Of Thee I Sing” at the International Festival of Macau, and as the lead role and director in “Verde Que Te Quiero Verde” a homage to Frederico Garcia Lorca, among many others.
While perfecting his repertoire he worked in Lugano - Switzerland with Maestro Jonathan Morris and in Salzbug - Austria with Maestro Günter Bauer.
He started giving singing lessons at the Instituto das Artes do Espectáculo; he structured and directed the Singing Courses at the Casa do Artista and also taught at the Academy of Marta Atayde .
He created the project Primo Canto Cultural Association (an association with no lucrative ends, which main goal is to promote shows and singing recitals to motivate young singers, as well as provide their artistic development), which allowed him to expand his abilities as a singer and as a teacher, as well as director of a scenic-vocal Project.
