In general terms the company advises clients on trends that continue to shape the financial industry such as online banking and investing, mobile apps, social media, etc. Corporate Insight’s studies and reports are frequently referenced in articles by financial reporting agencies such as Bloomberg, CNBC, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal. Since the company began doing projects and consulting work related to mobile and social media trends it has garnered attention from more mainstream publications such as the New York Times, Newsweek, TIME, and USA Today. Overview The company was founded in 1992 by Peter Ellison. His first employee was his son, Michael, who has held the title of President since 1997. Initially, the company specialized in helping brokerage firms utilize the internet. The report, which ranks firms in the banking, brokerage, credit card, annuity or mutual funds industries based on online capabilities, usually receives substantial coverage from financial reporting agencies. * The company has released two notable reports on the relationship between the financial industry and social media. Corporate Insight claims that the first report, released in October 2008 and titled was the first to study that relationship. The second report, released in October 2010 and titled studied the growing use of social media and was widely reported on among industry publications. * Corporate Insight’s received a lot of attention. Released on June 15th, 2011, the study examines how financial firms are using mobile platforms. * The company periodically partners with ResearchNow and publishes a large study that gauges investor’s preferences and opinions on all aspects of online investing.
