History
Founding
Corinne Jewelers was established in 1964 by Mel Blumenthal (1930-2013), and was named Corinne after a promise to Mel’s wife, Corinne, to “put her name up in lights”.
Superstorm Sandy and Reopening
In 2012, Corinne Jewelers was in the direct path of Superstorm Sandy, and sustained minimal physical damage, yet remained closed and without power for over seven days.
In 2014, Corinne Jewelers expanded their storefront, with a grand reopening ceremony on July 31, 2014. The reopening of the store was attended by Toms River mayor Thomas Kelaher, who proclaimed that July 31st would be known as “Corinne Jewelers day”.
Notable Sales
On November 4, 2014, Corinne Jewelers sold a custom 1.64-carat radiant-cut pink diamond for $170,000 to a private buyer.
