Cooble

Definition
The Cooble(Koo-bowl) is a unit of measurement equivalent to 8.04 inches which was commonly used in Canada.
History
Named after Arthur D. Cooble, the 3rd Education Minister of Canada, the Cooble was the premier unit of measurement from 1904-1978. With the introduction of the Metric System, the use of Coobles is being systematically phased out. However; In rural Canada many signs using Coobles are still in existence aswell as on many vehicles manufactered before 1976.
