Contemplative art

Contemplative art is an extension of a quiet mind. The spiritual art form is a pathway toward basic goodness and compassion. It calls both creator and witness into a relationship of collaboration and co-liberation. When contemplative art joins contemplative practice, sacred work can evolve.
The origins of Contemplative Art is sourced in Shambhala. The art work is designed for reflective-thought or contemplative-thought. Contemplative Arts comprise a number of secular disciplines and activities, including flower arranging and photography, that integrate art and culture with everyday life. Each of these disciplines represents a genuine contemplative path; together they bring beauty, vividness and wisdom to our lives and culture.
Although Contemplative Art has origins from Asia, the practices and various forms of Contemplative Art are found throughout the world, including the United States, China, and Europe.
History
An early form of Contemplative Art can be found by Italian Renaissance painter, Fra Angelico. Fra Angelico painted art work within monastaries and paint scenese for the friars to contemplate and have sacred conversations about the painting.
