The Constitution Party of New Jersey is an affiliate party of the national Constitution Party. The party was officially founded on July 29, 1995 as the Taxpayers Party of New Jersey. Following the lead of the national party, the name was changed to the Constitution Party of New Jersey on September 11, 1999. The party supports strict adherence to the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the New Jersey Constitution. The party takes very conservative stances on social and fiscal issues.
