Constance R Howard

Constance Rachelle Howard (born August 21, 1984), professionally known as Constance or Constance Howard, is a up and coming American R&B singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, choreographer, model, and philanthropist.Constance started her professional music career in 2008. Her debut album "Prima Donna" is scheduled for release late 2009.
Early life
Constance was born in Brooklyn, Ny. to Caitlin Darby, and Carmal Howard. She was raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn and graduated from South Shore High School. Her father is African-American and her mother is Irish.When Constance was a child she said that growing up wasn't easy, being biracial; Constance often was teased by her peers for having a white mother in a predominantly black neighborhood. Constance father was hardly around her after the age of 9 drug use and incarceration for most of her life. Constance is the fourth child of her mother's six children. Throughout High School Constance was a dancer and video model for Hip Hop artist such as Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and Fabolous.
Modeling
While Constance was in High School she always had a love for singing but dreamed of being in a Hip Hop.One person who noticed her was her high school music director in her sophomore year. He was also a music video director. She appeared in a couple of Hip Hop videos that year that gained her some exposure. By the time she was a junior in high school she appeared in five music videos. By her senior year in 2002 she achieved major success in her modeling and dance career. Appearing in such videos as "Pass the Courvoisier" by Busta Rhymes, "This is my party" by Fabolous, Ja Rule "Down for You" and "Made you look" by Nas.This also brought on a very serious drug problem brought on by stress and a abusive boyfriend. Constance began Penn State University October in 2002 majoring in Theater Arts. While in college she appeared in many videos, including "Snake" by R. Kelly, "P.I.M.P" by 50 cent, Twista "Overnight Celebrity", "This Is How We Do" by Game, G-Unit "Wanna Get To Know You" and T.I. "Bring em Out". She also appeared in numerous Jay-Z videos for his "The Blueprint²: The Gift & the Curse" and "The Black Album". This led to a close friendship with Jay-Z.
Ethnicity Models
Constance also got very serious with her modeling in 2003 signing with Ethnicity Models , which was based out of Miami, Florida. Constance appeared in ads for XXL, Vibe, and . She is also a featured model for Roca Wear ,Calvin Klein, Ecko, and Marc Jacobs. However the money she was making supported her drug habit and taste for expensive clothing and jewelry. In 2004 due to financial issues, she was forced to transfer out of Penn State University. Constance moved back home to go to Metropolitan College of New York, she changed her major to Psychology. Being back home gave her the opportunity to read all her thoughts she had written down during her teenager.It was at this time where Constance transformed her writings into songs and started singing again.Constance graduated in 2006 with her bachelors degree in Psychology. Constance retired appearing in Hip Hop video's in August 2008 after 10 years in the modeling business. Constance has appeared in over 50 music videos.
Tragedies
Drug Use
In high school Constance fell in love with a local Drug dealer who was also a classmate. Constance lost her father figure when her uncle died December 26, 1998 of congested heart failure. Constance fell into a deep depression in 1999 and didn't leave her house for most of the school year. When she returned to High School her boyfriend offered her cocaine which became her drug of choice throughout her years. Her use of drugs came to a stretching halt when she learned of her unexpected pregnancy in 2007. Due to her excessive use of drugs early in her pregnancy, she prematurely gave birth to identical twin girls at six months. Constance spent a little over a month in the hospital for herself and her daughters where there nearly a year. She used that time to reflect on her life and the mistakes she made.
Death Of Brother
On August 19, 2007 yet another tragedy struck Constance, Her youngest brother Jay’Zel was shot and killed at age 16. It was believed to be drug related but the case remains open to this day. This time instead of grieving behind close doors, she used it as motivation, dedicating everything she does to her brother. She frequently visits Rosehill Cemetery where he is buried to talk to him, he never got a chance to see his nieces.
Breast Cancer
Constance was hospitalized in early April 2008, she had suffered a very bad epileptic seizure. While in the hospital she got pneumonia. During a normal examination the doctor discovered a lump in her right breast. Her mother side of the family had a history of breast cancer. The lump was a cancerous tumor that needed to be removed immediately, the surgery was prolonged until the end of May because of the pneumonia. She had a soon after had a Lumpectomy removing the tumor and Constance started chemotherapy in September 2008 and finished treatment that December. Constance won her brief battle of cancer.
Recording Career
October 30, 2008 Constance performed live at The Hammerstein Ballroom as a special guess at a Jay-Z concert. The very next morning she received a recording contract from Roc-A-Fella Records/ Def Jam Recordings and after going over it with her lawyer and manager, she signed it on November 7. Her first professional recording was the very next day.

Roc-A-Fella Records/Def Jam Recordings decided it was in Constance best interest that she remained signed with Def Jam Records and be released out of her contact with Roc-A-Fella Records due to her style of music and for success in her career.
Debut Album
Constance debut album Prima Donna is scheduled for released late 2009. "Keep Me On" is her lead single and she is currently in the studio working this producers such as "The Dream", "Kanye West", "Timberland" and "Just Blaze" while currently on her promotion tour around the United States.
