Consecutivism

Consecutivism is an art style that is created by Vinesh Sukumaran who hails from Bangalore, India. It consists of a series of consecutive lines drawn mostly with ink on paper, which form patterns that denote a range of feelings and experiences. These patterns of Consecutivism create what is called the Pureart experience for anyone who sees these patterns. While many of the consecutivism pieces may seem bound by the edges of the sheet or canvas, they really are a snapshot of the infinite and the feel and flavor of the patterns are meant to continue in the viewer’s mind.
Vinesh has been meditating for over a decade and has explored many of the ideas and thoughts portrayed in his art work. Influences like progressive rock and the literature of Robert Pirsig and Hermann Hesse have added the rhythm and quality to his patterns of consecutivism.
The trails of Consecutivism portray a series of present moments that flash in reality successively to create a range of dynamic thoughts, feelings and images in your mind. This is the phenomenon of Pureart. This experience goes on until the thoughts, feelings and images crystallize to form impressions or static patterns in your mind. And if you like the painting, you go back and look at it to try to recreate the whole dynamic experience all over again. It’s never the same each time.
Many of these patterns are really about meditative experiences, sexual ecstasy, perception, creativity and goodness.
