Conor Phillips

Conor Fiachra Finbarr Phillips is a well known Irish politicion known for his strong stance against immigration and former stand-up comedian. Phillips is member of the Sinn Fein party and was elected to the Louth County Council in 2006.


Early Years

A talented footballer in his youth Phillips was tipped to be a new star excelling at soccer and GAA football. It was at the GAA Phillips realised his passion for politics after a bust up for his local team St. Fechins with second team manager Anton Mooney in which after a heated exchange Phillips told Mooney to "shut his beak".


The comedian
Phillips is a well known Irish Comedian and to this day still regularly performs his act at the 19th a local comedy club in Co. Louth with no microphone, he and his comic partner Yank have been performing regularly in the 19th since 1999. In 2005 Phillips appeared on the famous Irish tv show the Late Late Show were he unusually performed numerous jokes and then sat in on a debate on immigration in both cases he performed very well and was applauded several times during the show.
