Conor D. McGuinness

Conor D. McGuinness is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who was first elected as a member of Waterford City and County Council in the 2019 Irish local elections. He represents the Dungarvan-Lismore municipal district. He has been a board member of Foras na Gaeilge, the cross-border agency tasked with promoting the Irish language, since 2016.
McGuinness is from Dungarvan and lives in the nearby Gaeltacht na nDéise Irish-speaking community.
He is a member of the Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle and previously worked as a constituency manager with the party's European Parliamentary team. He was elected to Waterford City and County Council as a first time candidate at the 2019 Waterford local elections and is the Sinn Féin group leader on the Council.
McGuinness represents Waterford on the HSE Southern Regional Health Forum and is a member of the Waterford City and County Joint Policing Committee (JPC). He represents the Dungarvan-Lismore municipal district on the Association of Irish Local Government (AILG). He is a member of the Economic Development and Enterprise , and the Housing, Communtity, Culture, Fire and Sport Strategic Policy Committees of Waterford City and County Council.
McGuinness has been a member of the Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle since 2015.
