Conformer Expansion Products

The Conformer envelope features a patented construction as a result of three key characteristics: the envelope has score lines on all four sides, front and back, and vertical glue lines that are inset from the edges. The bottom corner seams are not sealed shut, but rather, they overlap to allow excess air to release out the bottom. These three characteristics enable the envelope to expand uniformly when contents are put in it and increase the maximum capacity of the envelope while reducing excess air trapped inside. This envelope construction was originally patented in 2000 by Marvin Makofsky and others. Several products which featured the patented construction received awards from the Print Solutions Magazine’s PEAK Awards in , , and for their breakthrough performances.

All of the Conformer products share a common trait: Conformer folders and envelopes start flat but when filled, the product “conforms” to its contents. When filled to its maximum capacity, the Conformer products resembles a hybrid of a box and an envelope.
Elements of the Company
Environmental - Conformer products are produced in a variety of environmentally friendly materials, including post-consumer recycled plastic and FSC and SFI-certified paper and paperboard. The FSC and SFI certifications stand for “Forest Stewardship Council" and "Sustainable Forestry Initiative," and indicate that the material was harvested using sustainable forestry practices.

Postal - Conformer Envelopes and Mailers can convert parcels into flats and flats into letters because they meet the US Postal Service’s specs for these automation-compatible categories. The Conformer patented construction minimizes the footprint and any excess packaging material.
