Colin Myers

Colin Myers is an English former football player and current football club manager. He is currently managing Bishop Auckland FC.
Myers was born in Whitby, N Yorks. and began his career with Sunderland AFC as an Association Schoolboy in 1984. This was followed by short spells with Hibernian FC and Plymouth Argyle FC respectively. He then dropped into non league football with Coundon TT in the Wearside League winning a Durham Challenge Cup winners medal before moving on to the first of three spells with Brandon United in the Northern League. Myers also had spells with Durham City and Jarrow Roofing before rejoining Brandon United in 1998. He went on to help them win the Northern League 2nd Division title in 2000 as well as reaching the Durham Challenge Cup Final Losing to Darlington FC at New Ferens Park, Durham City. He also went on to win the clubs player of the Year award that season. In 2001 he was also a member of the Brandon side who, 12 months later. again lost the Durham Challenge Cup Final this time to Bishop Auckland FC of the Unibond Premier League.
Myers Retired from playing in 2002 and joined the management team at Brandon United as Assistant Manager to Kenny Lindoe, helping them to win the Northern League 1st Division title in 2003.
In 2004 Myers Re-joined Jarrow Roofing and helped guide them to the semi finals of the FA Vase losing to eventual winners Didcot Town FC over two legs in 2005.
In 2006 he returned to Brandon United who by now were in the 2nd Division and in free fall after a number of financial problems, as First Team Manager. He went on to halt the slide and kept them in the 2nd division.
In 2007, Myers returned to Jarrow Roofing as Joint Manager in the 1st Division but left in December of that year to join Shildon AFC as first Team coach. Myers helped to guide Shildon to 5th Position in the Northern League 1st Division and League Cup runners up.
In February 2009 he joined Bishop Auckland as Manager when they looked certainties for relegation having gained only 12 points from 20 games and were 10 points away from safety. By the end of 2009 he had Guided Bishops to 18th position in the league, 7 points clear of relegation.
