Cold Blood Canyon is a 2007 American independent horror film produced by Film Warriors and set in Beverly Hills' Coldwater Canyon area of Los Angeles, California. With the film being set only a mile or so from the location of the August 8, 1969 Manson Family murders of Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, and Steven Parent, and wanting to underscore the dark history of the Coldwater Canyon locale, the original draft of the screenplay was itself titled Coldwater Canyon.
Plot The film centers around the Myers family who recently made the purchase of a Beverly Hills home, while wondering why the price tag is too good to be true. Their daughter, Danielle, discovers the truth when a neighbor tells her one of the previous owners was murdered there years ago. When Danielle falls prey to the hauntings of the ghostly victim who lived there, Danni's dream home turns into the house from hell after she is tortured and attacked by the evil apparition. After Danielle's cries go unheard by her oblivious parents, she realizes she must get out of the house as quickly as possible or she is going to be the next victim of an even greater threat.
  Production
Writer/director Alec Tuckman directed the film, which stars Lulu Brud as Danielle Myers, Elissa Dowling as Stephanie Halstead, C J Barnes as Charles McNulty, and Jean McCallister as Evelyn Myers. Tuckman's inspirations stem from all the Hitchcock movies he once saw as a child, scarred for life after a late night screening of THE BIRDS and PSYCHO, unbeknownst to his parents. That and THE SHINING scared the living hell out of Alec and the rest is history. One can see the apparent influences in his films. They are quite clear. Usually reality based themes flow through his films, such as "is this really happening", or "loved ones hurt us the most", or "bad things happen to the best people". Alec's projcts are extremely plot focused and have major turning points every 7-10 pages in scripts that take us guessing in other directions. Technically speaking, Tuckman is also strongly influenced by director Michael Bay's techniques of editing and use of various camera angles constantly cutting back and forth.
