CKKA is an abbreviation for the Canadian Karate Kung Fu Association which is an association of martial artists and schools who practice the martial arts taught by "little" Dave Chong and "big" Dave Chong. The Chongs are cousins. Since "little" Dave also held a black belt in Shotokan Karate, they expanded their school to include Karate. The Chongs first created the Canadian Karate Kung Fu Club (CKKC) but as their students began to open their own schools, the name Club was changed to Association. Over the years the CKKA has evolved where the schools have substituted other styles of Karate for Shotokan or, in some cases, schools have focused on teaching the 5 animals exclusively. Currently both Chongs have retired, however at the behest of the students, "big" Dave still holds workshops during the year travelling throughout Canada and Europe, refining and expanding on the kung fu curriculum.
