Christoph Watrin (born 8 August 1988) is a German singer, musician and choir leader. Early life Christoph Watrin first started playing the piano at the age of five. His parents realized his potential early on and encouraged him. When he was 11 years old Christoph won a singing competition on WDR television as a soloist of a childrens’ choir. A year later he stood on stage next to Anke Engelke in front of an audience of 2000 people at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall and performed "Blame It On The Boogie" by the Jackson Five. As a soloist and member of the multiplatinum choir Kölner Jugendchor St. Stephan Christoph appeared on numerous WDR and ARD tv shows. Christoph spent most of his youth working on his musical carrer and his improvement as an artist. US5 At the age of 16 he outperformed 5000 male competitors to become a member of the international boyband US5 and convinced Lou Pearlman, founder of the Backstreet Boys and , with his talent. As part of the reality tv show "Big in America", which aired on German and on British television he wowed the audience. With US5 Watrin sold more than 2 million records worldwide within 3 years and reached gold status and platinum status in Germany as well as gold status in the United States, Austria and Poland. Through television appearances and concerts all over the world US5 reached an audience of millions. With all 9 singles and 2 albums US5 reached the Top Ten of the German Charts. Their first single "Maria" reached number 38 on the UK Single Charts. A further career highlight was the collaboration with Bee Gees Member Robin Gibb († 20 May 2012) for a reinterpretation of the song "Too much heaven". Through US5 Christoph discovered his talent as a composer and songwriter and co-wrote two US5 Songs. In 2008 Christoph longed for a more down to earth approach to music. He left US5 and began making music on the streets of Berlin under the name of “StadtkinT". Current Career Just recently as a member of the New Life Gospel Choir Christoph has shared the stage with Pharrell Williams at "Wetten Dass" for a performance of the global hit "Happy". Since 2013 he also successfully leads a choir of people with multiple mental disabilities for the Diakonie Michaelshoven in Cologne.
