Christian death metal

Christian death metal music consists of death metal music with a Christian messages or members performing the music.
History
The band Living Sacrifice, formed in 1990, "evolved from their early death metal-inspired rumblings into a crushing, staccato-driven, heavily percussive metallic behemoth that pummels listeners with intense riffage and a decidedly personal, though nevertheless, often evangelical lyrical viewpoint." The Minneapolis based Crimson Thorn released albums such as 1995's Unearthed, 1999's Dissection, and 2002's Purification. Allmusic describes them as "one of the world's most extreme-sounding Christian metal bands."
Later, Norway's Extol began playing death metal. Allmusic described their 1999 album Burial as "a breath of fresh air among a genre that relies on satanic gimmicks."
