History==
The band was created in 2001 by Nick Melissourgos as a school project. Soon after that he meets drummer Orfeas Tzortzopoulos and together they record 2 demos, "The Calm Before The Storm" and "Angels' Sacrifice", showing the band's old-school thrash metal direction. In 2004 they record their first, self-financed EP, "Bloodthirsty Humanity". After a few line-up changes in 2005, the band performs for the first time beyond the greek borders in Bucharest, Romania. With further line-up changes, the band continues to perform in Greece and abroad while in 2006 Suicidal Angels record their second EP "Armies Of Hell", released by local indie label. Their live shows and positive reviews by international and local press lead the band to their first contract with american label OSM Records.
In January 2007 the band started recording its first full length album, "Eternal Domination" which was realeased in July. It was that same year that Suicidal Angels joined Rotting Christ's Theogonia Balkan Tour, while later in 2007 they toured with Onslaught and Massacre. In November, Suicidal Angels supported the german thrashers Kreator in Athens. The band's performance impressed Mille Petrozza, frontman of Kreator, so much that he went on stage wearing a Suicidal Angels t-shirt. Ever since, Petrozza has supported the band mentioning it as one of the best up-coming thrash metal acts of Europe.
In March 2009, the band entered the "Music Factory & Prophecy Studios" in Germany to record its second album. Sanctify the Darkness contains some of the group's biggest hits such as "...Lies", "The Pestilence of Saints" and "Apokathilosis". Later that year, the band entered the Rock The Nation and Nuclear Blast contest in which they eventually took first place, topping 1200 bands from all over Europe.
The release of Sanctify the Darkness in November 2009 signaled the beginning of new tours with bands like Kataklysm and Overkill, while it gave the band the opportunity to perform in many european festivals like Wacken Open Air, Metalcamp, the greek leg of Sonisphere Festival, supporting the Big 4 of thrash metal (Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica) etc. It was in May of 2009 that Suicidal Angels did their first headline tour in Europe with Enforcer, Cauldron and Steelwing.
2010 proved equally productive for the band as they released their third album entitled Dead Again. The record's artwork was created by Ed Repka, known for his work with Megadeth, Death and others. During winter 2010, the band took part in Thrashfest 2010, along with Death Angel, Exodus and Kreator. In September 2011 the quartet recorded its fourth studio album in Germany with R.D. Liapakis, with whom the band had worked on their two previous albums as well.
