Chris Rooney (born in Sioux City, Iowa)is a former football fullback who played Division I-A college football for the Akron Zips, located in Akron, Ohio. Early Football Career He started his college career at Waldorf Community College in Forest City, Iowa, before transferring to Akron. Rooney was a stand out high school football player at Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, Iowa. Coaching Career and other Employment Recently Chris Rooney became the offensive coordinator of Briar Cliff University football team, a member of the NAIA division in all sports. Rooney began working on the Charger Football staff in 2005 overseeing the Chargers’ offensive backfield. Prior to joining the BCU coaching staff, Rooney was an assistant varsity and freshman coach at . He also continues to work as a teacher at West High. |
