Choreplay is the concept that when men perform domestic chores (e.g., taking care of their children or helping to clean their home), they may induce sexual arousal in their female partners. One hypothesis proposed to explain this phenomenon is that sexual arousal in women is associated with a deep sense of relaxation and lack of anxiety: the observation of males performing domestic chores may reduce anxiety and thereby increase sexual arousal. This hypothesis has some support in research showing that parts of the brain involved in processing fear, anxiety and emotion became less active the more sexually aroused women became. Men showed much less change in these areas during sexual arousal.
