Chikitsa

Chikitsa is a charitable clinic devoted to providing free health care services to slum dwellers living around R.K.Puram, New Delhi, and the rural poor living around Gurgaon, Haryana. Chikitsa's Chairman is the retired Indian Chief of Army Staff, General O.P. Malhotra.
It started functioning on 4 March 2000 when it opened its first health care clinic at the premises of the Gauri Shankar Temple in Sector-12, R.K. Puram, New Delhi, to benefit nearby slum dwellers. Chikitsa now has over 18,000 registered patients, with an average daily attendance of 120 patients. In addition, special services are also provided to needy Tuberculosis patients.
