Chicago Rhythm and Jews, also known as Rhythm and Jews, is the second oldest a cappella group, dating from at latest 1990. It is a co-educational group, consisting of Jews and non-Jews alike. Their repertoire consists of Hebrew and English pieces -- ranging from "Keter" to "Lady Madonna," and nearly everything in between. The group has historic ties to Shircago, a professional a cappella group with roots at the University of Chicago. Latke-Hamantash Debate Rhythm and Jews performs annually at the University of Chicago's Latke-Hamantash Debate. Tour Every winter, during the University of Chicago's winter break, Rhythm and Jews tours part of the United States, singing in schools, synagogues, and the like. In the 2012-2013 academic year, they toured the Washington D.C., area and New York City. In 2011-2012, they toured California.
