Chi Sigma Xi

Chi Sigma Xi (ΧΣΞ) is a multicultural, social, philanthropic, and academic sorority founded at the University of Toronto Scarborough in Scarborough, Ontario.
Chi Sigma Xi strives to eliminate gender, cultural, ethnic, and social inequality in the community. With several of the sorority's members being international students, ΧΣΞ is culturally diverse and globally connected.
Purpose
Chi Sigma Xi aims to offer its members a community of women to support them through and beyond their university experience. Chi Sigma Xi aims to encourage its members to grow personally, academically, socially and professionally through the organization's events and activities. Members of the organization are offered leadership experience and volunteer opportunities.
Crest and symbols
The official colours are: black, white and purple. Their symbols including: purple roses, the balanced scale, the torch and their mascot (the wolf), are incorporated on their crest.
Values
"The sisters of Chi Sigma Xi are committed to improving their community through volunteer work, fundraising events, scholastic achievement, and sisterly support given to each and all of Chi Sigma Xi members." The sorority believes in equality and maintains that its members are equal by refraining from use of a hierarchal system. The sorority also enforces a strict no hazing policy and does not tolerate any hazing of prospective members or between members. Chi Sigma Xi does not require any sorority dues or membership fees to be a member.Chi Sigma Xi offers academic support to its members including study sessions and a textbook library.
