Charles Mittelstadt

Charles Douglas Mittelstadt (born January 12, 1965 in Parsippany, NJ), is an Atlanta, Georgia based criminal defense investigator with international experience and extensive national high-profile case involvement.
He has worked as lead investigator with numerous celebrated defense teams and attorneys including; Judy Clarke, William R. “Billy” Martin, Edward T.M. Garland, Don F. Samuel, Jerry Froelich, Bobby Lee Cook (the inspiration for TV character "Ben Matlock"), Barry A. Cohen, Johnnie Cochran (famed OJ Simpson attorney), David Cornwell (famed Sports Agent and attorney).
Mittelstadt’s clients consist of numerous professional athletes, celebrities and politicians including; Ray Lewis (NFL) case (Def- Reginald Oakley), Senator Ralph David Abernathy Jr. (Politician), Jamal Anderson (NFL), Jamal Lewis (NFL), Senator Charles Walker (Politician), Eric Robert Rudolph (Olympic Park Bomber), Dany Heatley (NHL), Former Atlanta Mayor William C. Mittelstadt routinely appears on network and cable television shows as a guest commentator and legal analyst. He was a regular guest on CourtTV, HLN InSession, HLN After Dark, and is currently a regular contributor on NBC affiliate WXIA 11Alive's cold case show "Georgia Mysteries" hosted by former CNN anchor Vinnie Politan. Since 2005, he has served on the Georgia Innocence Project legal advisory committee. In 2006, he launched the 13 1/2 Foundation, an effort devoted to creating public awareness for systemic flaws within the U.S. criminal justice system, and advocating corresponding reforms. In January 2016, Mittelstadt launched a podcast called CSI Sidebar. His co-host is former CNN Law Enforcement Analyst, Mike Brooks.
