Surachai "Chai" Romruen (born February 8, 1989) is an Australian actor. He was cast to play Zac in Mako Mermaids, becoming the first merman ever shown on H2O. Personal life Chai was born on February 8th 1989 in Ko Samui (Thailand) and migrated to Australia at the age of 7. In 2007 Chai found a love for dance and he completed his scholarship and gained a ‘diploma in performing arts’ in 2011.. On 8 May 2012, Shiff Productions announced that Chai was part of the cast in the Australian Series Mako Mermaids.
