Chad Rabinovitz

Chad Rabinovitz (born September 4, 1980) is an American director of theater. Rabinovitz currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana where he is the Producing Artistic Director of the Bloomington Playwrights Project. Indiana Public Media has called Rabinovitz's "manipulation of space and set inventive." The New York Times has noted Rabinovitz's abilities. The Fairfield Weekly said that his work with the play 'The Pavilion' at the Westport Country Playhouse "was an undeniable success."
Chad has directed more than seventy productions across the country focusing mostly on new and contemporary work. He has served as Artistic Director at the Crested Butte Mountain Theater (Colorado), Education Director of the Greenbrier Valley Theater (West Virginia), Assistant Managing Director of the Northern Lights Playhouse (Wisconsin), and as Artistic Associate of the Westport Country Playhouse (Connecticut). It was at the Westport Country Playhouse that Rabinovitz worked with such notable names as Joanne Woodward, Anne Keefe and Tazwell Thompson.
Accomplishments At The Bloomington Playwrights Project
Rabinovitz has directed world premiere plays by playwrights Israel Horovitz, Craig Wright, Jon Marans, Wendy Macleod, Michael Healey, Bill Jepsen and Christine Whitley.
Rabinovitz developed the Woodward/Newman Drama Award at the Bloomington Playwrights Project named after Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, sponsored by Newman's Own Foundation.
Recent Work
Rabinovitz worked with singer/songwriter Jeremy Schonfeld and actress/singer Nicole Parker to develop their musical 'Kissing Frogs' at the Bloomington Playwrights Project in February of 2011.
