Celine Abiad

Celine Abiad is a Lebanese Film Producer, writer, and owner of BEIROOTS Productions.
Celine Abiad was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, on November 13, 1985, and grew up in Beirut, Lebanon.
She studied at ALBA (Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts) where she received a BA in Audio Visual Communication, and an MA in Film Production, then she received a Certificate in Audiovisual Financing and Commercialization from “ina” Sorbonne Paris 2.
She was only 17 years old when she started her journey back in a small hometown, with a play: “St Simon” (Mar Semaan Al Amoudi) along with the writer/director Badran Roy Badran. It made 3000 entries and the very first step of long rung of dreams coming true.
Trainings, freelancing, producing and co-producing, she worked here and there, gaining experience until the birth of “BEIROOTS Productions” in 2006, her very own production house producing short films and documentaries at that time.
In 2007, she started producing A Play Entitled Sehnsucht, the first experimental surrealist feature film in the Mediterranean, a 5 year journey into the heart of an adventure, in a country (Lebanon) that holds a tight reign on cinematographic expression. Celine Abiad worked hand in hand with the writer/director Badran Roy Badran to make his dream, his vision and his talent see the light.
Together they faced all the problems they had encountered, no rest and definitely “no comprise” the director’s motto.
An experience that she called: “My very own will to reach the highest state in creatively producing movies in my country, for the world”.
“A Play Entitled Sehnsucht” is today in international sales with “Albany Films International” France, after Cannes Film market 2011.
Currently, Celine Abiad partnered with "Eye-Squad Productions" specialized in Films, Media, Photography, SFX and Art Direction, based in Dubai with branches in Beirut and Poland. Celine and Eye-Squad team will undertake many international and regional projects while establishing a true base for the cinema industry in the Middle East.
Celine Abiad, is a believer, an obstinate one, and very harsh when it comes to realizing dreams.
She is a dream pursuer. And as impossible and absurd as it gets, she always has the will, the arms, the love and the freedom to fulfill any project that comes in her way, because for Celine, “Cinema is an art first… then an entertainment”.
