Catherine Nicole Emmanuelle (born January 14, 1980 in Oakland, California) is an American politician and community organizer in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is the first and current chair of Clear Vision Eau Claire, a city sustainability and civic engagement organization. She also serves as a Parent Policy Council Member for Western Dairyland Head Start, a member of the Family centered care Advisory Council for Luther Midelfort Hospital Mayo Health System, and was appointed to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire "Commission on the Status of Women." On January 14, 2009, she announced that she was running for an At-Large seat on the Eau Claire City Council for the April 6, 2010 elections and kicked-off her campaign. She is one of the eight candidates currently running for 5 open seats. She is endorsed by AFSCME and The Greater West Central Area Labor Council. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party of Eau Claire County. Biography Early Life and Career Emmanuelle has lived in the Chippewa Valley for the past 10 years and is currently a Nontraditional student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a women's studies major and an economics minor. She received the Wisconsin Women in Government Future Leader Award Scholarship and an American Association of University Women Scholarship. She co-authored "By the People: A role for citizen problem-solvers in Eau Claire." Public Office Emmanuelle sought a Political appointment to the Eau Claire City Council in 2009 for the At Large seat left by outgoing member Brandon Buchanan. She was one of two applicants nominated for the final vote (out of eleven who applied) and lost local attorney Dana Wachs In 2009 she was chosen by City Officials to be the Chairperson of a community - wide civil engagement group, known as Clear Vision Eau Claire. She also became a parent policy council member for her local Head Start office. In January of 2009, Emmanuelle announced her intentions to run for an At Large seat on the council for the April 6, 2010 election.
