Catch-99

Catch-99 is similar to Catch-22 but only applies to career women. "If you do play the helpless female, they say you aren't fit to do a man's job."

Origin
Catch 99 was first penned by John J. Nance in his bestselling book Blackout. Kat Bronsky, the heroine in the book, coins Catch-99 to explain all the gender-based pressures a career female comes under from her male counterparts.

Although the rule was initially compared to Catch-22, it was given a new numerical callsign based on Agent 99, the female agent in Get Smart. Kat also liked the number 99 because it was also the name of a women's pilot organization she belonged to, the Ninety-Nines.
