Carlos amador munoz

Carlos Amador, Costa Rican composer born in San Jose in 1960. He studied at the University of Costa Rica as well as in Colombia. Nowadays he is with Angel’s Design Empire and House King Records in Miami and in Wisconsin with the Agua Foundation. His collection of 8 cds ranges from formal music to New Age, and even experimental electro-acoustic music. The names of his cds are: Links, El Otro, Where the Clouds Nest, The Silence of the Seas, Voyage to the Centre of Oneself, Chamber-trios music, The Hill of the Brooks, and “El”. He is an international speaker for several groups of human development. He gives lectures in North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean and Portugal. He has been a specialized composer in audiovisual projects in his recording studio in San Jose, Costa Rica and in Miami, Florida. His company Argentum Productions is working in a new CD "Land of Spheres", recording shamanic chants from Guaimy and Cabecar masters.
Amador has produced symphonic and chamber pieces that have been played in Costa Rica, Austria, France, England, and Spain. His music has been recorded in France, Costa Rica and England. He has composed music for dance and theatre in Spain, United States of America, Costa Rica and Peru. He has composed documental sound tracks for the Milwaukee Public Museum in USA, World Petroleum Council in England, and for many institutions both at local and international level. He has given workshops in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, USA and Europe, on the theraupetical value of music. His current project is related to investigating and composing Central American shamanic singing.
