Carden Academy is a private elementary school located in Mission Viejo in Orange County California. It was founded by Patricia Cullinane in 1994 and its director is P.L. de Avila.

Carden Academy follows the school of thinking among institutions that a solid core curriculum in language, arts and mathematics from kindergarten to 8th grade leads students towards a high academic achievement. Their method of instruction awakens each student's natural desire to learn, and equips them with a sound foundation of academic skills and knowledge which will enable them to proceed with confidence and success through a lifetime of education.

History
For overall child development, a mission was initiated across the social circle in 1994 by Patricia Cullinane. The Director P.L. de Avila is working sincerely towards the development of Carden Academy and is making a remarkable contribution in the field of educational system.

Curriculum
As has been said by someone, “ Education is not the preparation for life, education is life itself.” The primary objective of Carden Academy is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives. Carden Academy is truly dedicated to their students. They believe that every child has some special feature, only we need to identify and nourish them in a proper way. They consider them as God's gift. Their philosophy of "Life Triumphant," implies that every individual has the capacity to manage his or her own life in a way that is moral, productive, and profitable. This philosophy permeates their method of teaching.
Some attributes of Carden Academy:
Cherish a love of reading from a young age as well as teach comprehension of all forms of literature including poetry, classical literature, and non-fiction.
Steady mastery of the written word through both creative writing and the use of Carden composition forms.
They have an unique system to learn spellings called Controls from which the students can understand how and why a word is spelled.
They also have fun creating their own art in the Microsoft Paint program.
Their daily attention is given to sequence, fluency, recall, categories, and organization of thought. Phonetically, these are closely integrated with the spelling sequence and grammatically integrated with the language work.
In this academy students can learn computer terminology.
Students can easily learn Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.
In geography students can easily understand map drawing skills, written reports and presentation boards.
The Academy follows instilling of self-confidence, self-discipline, and stamina as proper channel for thorough education, and these qualities can be brought forth in a child's character through the careful teaching of key subjects and the development of positive attitudes. Their aim is to enhance positive attributes of each student.
Extra Curricular Activities
Along with teaching science, composition, grammar, history, spelling, math, literature, geography, and reading they help their students in co-curricular activities like in music, Art, Spanish, and Physical Education. Their playground includes Pioneer Park, which provides a rich hands-on science and nature environment.
Through Extra curricular activities the child can enhance:
Confidence as they share their musical talents and knowledge through special performances throughout the year
The ability to read music and analyze rhythmic patterns, phrasing and tempo changes
Develop an awareness of art history, and the historical context of artists throughout time
Gain an appreciation for art through discussion of art as the expression of one's ideals with emphasis on the Romantic School of Art which indicates life as it could be and should be
Learn to work with a wide variety of materials over the course of the year and receive skill lessons in the use of these materials
