Cannabis smoking etiquette

Cannabis smoking etiquette (sometimes called marijuana etiquette or spliff politics), as practiced within groups of cannabis smokers, solves such issues as:
* assuring that the responsibility of preparing the herb is spread around all participants of the session
* making sure each user gets an equal share or are all intoxicated sufficiently.
* keeping the marijuana cigarette lit at all times until completely used.
* Who rolls a joint must light it up.
* Must always be passed upon the left hand side.
Joints
In some cultures, each person is expected to share the joint by passing it to the person next to them after making use of it for a short time. In some circles taking two "puffs" and then passing it on is the accepted etiqutte - lending a name to Snoop Dogg's tour "Puff, Puff, Pass 2001" and a 2006 feature film, Puff, Puff, Pass.
The slang term "bogarting", named after actor Humphrey Bogart, refers to taking an unduly long time with a cigarette, drink, etc., that is supposed to be shared (e.g., "Don't bogart that joint!"). It derives from Bogart's signature style of cigarette smoking, with which he left his cigarette dangling from his mouth rather than withdrawing it between puffs. Other terms to describe someone taking too long on a joint/blunt is called "chiefing", "nursing", "surfing", "babysitting", "sleeping", or "camping".
