Candace Michelle Brown (born November 21, 1968) is a beauty pageant titleholder from the United States who was crowned Miss Alabama USA and placed first runner-up to Miss USA 1992. Early life Born and raised in Calhoun, Georgia, Brown began a modeling career in her high school years and was featured in a broad array of advertisements and publications.<ref name=pnb/> She is a 1987 graduate of Calhoun High School. Miss Alabama USA While a student at Auburn University, she entered and won the 1992 Miss Alabama USA title. She competed for the title of Miss USA in Wichita, Kansas, in February 1992 where she won the swimsuit competition and finished as the first runner-up to Miss California USA, Shannon Marketic.<ref namepnb/><ref name"usat920210"/> This was only the second time that Alabama had finished first runner-up and was the state's second highest placement overall.<ref name=geo/> Life after Miss Alabama USA After Miss USA, Candace completed a USO Goodwill tour with Miss California USA to United States military bases in the Far East, the first time such a trip had occurred. Candace went on to model with Hawaiian Tropic for several years before retiring.<ref name="atljc940824"/> She graduated from Auburn in 1995. Today, Brown lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, David Alexander, and two children. She is an avid Auburn Tigers supporter and enjoys tennis, golf, and volunteer work.<ref name=pnb/>
