Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange

The Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX) is a not-for-profit organization that operates in Canada. The CCTX is a service provider that assists Canadian businesses with identifying and mitigating various forms of cyber-attacks. Currently, the organization is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
At the overall level, the organization acts a cybersecurity information resource in an effort to reduce the occurrence and impact of cybercrime in Canada, including vulnerability, threat, and risk management. Prior to its launch in early 2016, the CCTX issued a press release that was covered by multiple media outlets, such as CBC, the Financial Post, and iPolitics, and Government entities, such as Public Safety Canada. However, it should be noted that the CCTX is not affiliated with the Government of Canada or the Government of Ontario.
The CCTX does not have an individual founder as numerous Canadian corporations were credited with its official formation.
History
The CCTX was founded in 2016 by a number of founding corporations: Air Canada, Bell, the Canadian National Railway Company, Hydro One, Manulife, RBC Royal Bank, Telus, the TD Bank Financial Group, and TransCanada. An individual representative from each of these founding organizations currently has a seat on its Board of Directors.
In December 2015, the CCTX announced its creation through a press release that indicated its respective involvement in Canadian cybersecurity services. Throughout 2015 and 2016, the organization gained notability as various Canadian media outlets reported that the company could have an effect on information security given that the CCTX acts as an information-sharing center to prevent the expansion of cybercrime. For instance, on the Public Safety Canada webpage, the launch of the CCTX was mentioned in their cybersecurity news bulletin.
Canadian businesses must purchase a membership in order to access any CCTX service.
Governance
As stated previously, a representative from each founding organization currently govern the CCTX operations. Currently, these representatives are: Paul Assaad, Marc Duchesne, Glenn Foster, Lee Hobbs, VivekKhindria, Theodore Zafirakos, Colin PennySteve Hurley, David Fairman, and Peter Romano.
