Cameron Abney

Cameron Abney (born May 23, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing for the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL. Abney was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 3rd round (82nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Abney played three years seasons (2008-2010) of major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL), skating with both the Everett Silvertips and Edmonton Oil Kings, scoring 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points, while earning 298 penalty minues, in 180 games played.
On April 21, 2010, the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL) signed Abney to a three-year entry level contract, and he was assigned to start the 2011-12 season with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.
Abney made his American Hockey League on December 10, 2011 with the Oklahoma City Barons, but did not stick with the AHL team. Over the course of his first two professional seasons, Abney played 73 regular-season and playoff games in the ECHl, and another 21 in the AHL, but had failed to impress professional scouts Bruce McCurdy or Jonathan Willis.
Abney started the 2013-14 campaign with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.
