Caitlin Papier

Caitlin Papier (born 9 March 1989) known professionally as 'Caitlin - Zambian Electric Violinist' by the stage name 'Caitlin Van Pyre' or simply 'Caitlin' is a self-taught She currently lives in Cape Town, South Africa. After completing school in 2006, Caitlin moved to Cape Town, South Africa to pursue a career in music. ZNBC covering Papier's performances for the late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester during his visit to Zambia in 2007., featured Caitlin Papier's Laser Violin performance for the Fortune/TIME/CNN Global Forum in 2010
Laser Violin
A world-first concept developed by Johannesburg based special effects company Laser X in 2008. Caitlin is pioneering the Laser Violin which is a purely aesthetic act involving laser beams attached to a violin bow. The use of lasers was inspired by the Laser harp made popular by Jean Michel Jarre. The Laser Violin has gained popularity due to videos of Caitlin's performances on Youtube.
Performances
Caitlin performs mostly in South Africa and in Zambia at events as a soloist or as a featured artist with other musicians and bands. She is known for her on-stage stunts Seychelles, and Budva, Montenegro
Electric Violins
As well as a 1969 Fender electric violin (red sunburst lacquer finish), Caitlin owns a Ted Brewer (clear) Vivo² although she mostly performs on one of her 3 Yamaha SV-200 models; she has Pearl white, Black and Gold Sparkle Yamaha instruments.<ref name="EVS "/>
