Buttrock

Buttrock is the colloquial term for the style of music played on such radio stations as Triple M in Australia. The music has an overtly Christian theme, with a raspy voice, and band members must be branded with tribal tattoos. Bands in this genre include Pearljam, Kings of Leon, Nickelback, Daughtry, and Lifehouse. Notable exceptions include Chester Bennington, who does not have a raspy voice, and Nickleback's I Figured You Out, which is anything but Christian.
Importance
The existance of this term used by some should not be denied. it may be argued, but should not be hidden. Buttrock, is infact a term similar to Glam rock, which others detest.
Commercialisation
Buttrock's lyrics are more related to current marketing trends than political, or personal statements. It is said that most acts start of as 'musicians' before they are signed to a major label, and positioned to a target market .
