Burgers plot

The Burgers Plot was first mentioned in the yet unpublished article by Van Hell, A. concerning hydrogen bonding networks in 2008. This plot allows viewers to see at what time points and the amount of time a specific water is participating in a water bridge. With this plot it is easy to view the strength of the water bridges present in a molecular domain, be it a protein or a set of oligopeptides.

As can be seen, the x-axis shows time, typically in nanoseconds, and the y-axis denotes a random set of water molecules.

The plot is generated from a set of .log files which contain all the hydrogen bonds present in the molecular scene. These log files were then accessed by a .py file which created the plot concerning all the water bridges at a certain time point.
