Budge Budge Thermal Power Station

Budge Budge Thermal Power Station is a coal-based thermal power plant located at Achipur near Budge Budge neighbourhood of Kolkata in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The power plant is operated by the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation or CESC Limited. This project was completed in 1997 and at first was headed by Mr. Samir Gopal Deb, Superintendent (Planning) CESC.
It is under the RPG Group.
Capacity
The power station is a significant source of pollution, according to the Centre for Science and Environment.
It has an installed capacity of 750 MW (3x250 MW).
It became fully operational in 1997. It reportedly is the most efficient in the use of water in India.
