Buddhist Anti Cult Alliance

The Buddhist Anti Cult Alliance (often abbreviated to BACA) is a charitable organisation based in the United Kingdom which acts as a debating society within the Buddhist community in that country, especially in regard to cults.
Organisation
The Alliance is comprised of various Buddhist organisations who are represented by one member of their respective organisations. The members meet every six months to debate current issues, and take it in turns to act as a chairman. The idea of the organisation is to allow Buddhist leaders to come together to help stop harmful groups and cults from misusing Buddhism.
Criticisms
The alliance has been criticised as a "talking shop" and "an old man's club", and for being too vague about it's definition of a cult or otherwise dangerous group. It has also come in for harsh criticism from some of the groups it has labelled as such.

* New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) founded by Kelsang Gyatso in England in 1991.
* Pine Forest Sangha founded by Edo Shonin (also known as Edward Penney) in Wales in 2005.
* Diamond Way founded by Ole Nydahl in Denmark in 1972.
