BroadwayWorld is a website, launched in 2003, formed to bridge the world of live theatre and technology together, with a focus on providing relevant information and news to users around the world. Overview BroadwayWorld.com features in-depth multimedia for major and minor theatrical attractions and events, current show listings and active news desk. BroadwayWorld also offers localized, regional sections for multiple markets across the world. BroadwayWorld has produced a series of sold-out Joe's Pub concerts as well as their "Standing Ovations" benefit concerts. These events benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. In late 2007, BroadwayWorld "launched the BroadwayWorld International Database (BWIDB); the largest theatre database on the internet", covering Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway, West End and beyond. At the time of launch, the beta version of the BWIDB already included over 75,000 performers and over 12,000 productions. Those productions were presented in more than 1300 theatres located in over 150 cities. Since the launch, BroadwayWorld has continuously expanded, combining their vast article and photograph database with individual records, striving to be the #1 resource for the history of theatre.
