British Boxing Hall of Fame

The British Boxing Hall of Fame (BBHOF) was founded in 2008 to acknowledge the achievements of British Boxers both home and abroad throughout the decades.
In 2013 it celebrates its fifth year with Festival of Boxing, a 6 day event held at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Ambassadors of the British Boxing Hall of Fame include Former World Champions John H Stracey, Wayne Elcock and Jane Couch. Retired Referee John Coyle who watched over more than 100 World Title fights was made an Ambassador in 2012. Other Ambassadors include David Walker of the World Boxing Council WBC, former Irish Champion and now Boxing Celebrity Joe Egan.

There are 6 current memberships of the British Boxing Hall of Fame which can be obtained via application or nomination. They are as follows:
* Ambassador
* International Ambassador
* Good Will Ambassador
* Junior Ambassador
* Member (voting - 3 levels)
* Member (Non-Voting)
Inductees
Each year the Members and Ambassadors of the British Boxing Hall of Fame are asked to vote and select 50 nominees from 5 categories
* Pioneer (Pre 1892)
* Old Timer (1893 - 1942)
* Veteran (1942 - 1992)
* Modern (1992 - Current)
* Non-Combatant (Recognised for their services to boxing)
from this a further vote is cast by the ambassadors to determine that years 10 inductees. Inductees to Hall of Fame are presented with their Titles at the British Boxing Hall of Fame Ceremonial Awards held on the last day of the Festival of Boxing.
Rules of induction
The rules of induction are set by the Ambassadors of the British Boxing Hall of Fame. Rules can only be changed after a vote from its Ambassadors and Members.
* Inductees must be from The British Isles, Commonwealth or have fought on British Soil against a British Boxer.
* A Boxer must have been retired for more than 3 years.
* Non-Combatants must have been active in the boxing community for a total of 10yrs or more.
