Bristol Barracuda

The Bristol Barracuda are members of the British Universities American Football League Southern Conference-Western Division. The University of Bristol Barracuda joined the BUAFL in league competition in the 2007/8 season. The Cuda were the result of a long-term development plan by the Bristol American Football Organisation to see a thriving American Football setup at the two universities in Bristol - The University of Bristol and The University of the West of England.
On 18 February 2007 the Cuda played their first ever match, travelling to Cheltenham to play the Gloucestershire Gladiators at The Prince of Wales Stadium, Cheltenham. The Cuda put in an impressive display winning 30-0, scoring 4 touchdowns, and allowing the Gladiators only 2 first downs.
The Barracuda were due to play Portsmouth Destroyers on 4 March but a game couldn't be inked. The Gloucestershire Gladiators stepped in and amidst atrocious weather conditions at the BAWA, Bristol ground out a 14-0 victory.
BCAFL League team and 2001 College Bowl Champions, the Oxford University Cavaliers, were to be the Cuda' final challenge for their associate season and a step up in class and competition. After a scoreless first half the Barracuda dug deep and punched in two fourth quarter scores to win 16-0 and preserve their unblemished record.
On 11 November 2007 the Cuda played host to Plymouth Blitz in their first ever league match. Energized by 4 Egbosimba TD's and 1 from Burt, the Cuda ran out 34-14 winners at Bawa, Bristol.
