Brentyn Milverton

Brentyn Milverton is an 18 year-old Australian rules football player in the Tasmanian State League for Devonport Football Club. He has achieved some popularity in recent weeks when he announced he was to have a finger amputated to aid his game.
He had dislocated the finger, and after unsuccessful attempts to put it back into place, the only way for Milverton to continue his football career was have the troublesome finger cut off.
On 19 May 2009, Milverton had his left ring finger chopped off below the first joint. He isn't the first footballer to go to such lengths, as Milverton's actions followed in the footsteps of ex-Hawthorn and West Coast Eagles premiership player, Daniel Chick, and current SANFL footballer, Brett Backwell who both had the same finger amputated for similar reasons.
However, despite the extreme nature of his injury, Milverton was back at training just hours following his surgery.
Milverton was hampered by injuries in the period following the loss of his finger, which took some time to adapt to playing with four fingers.
For 2010, Milverton joined TSL club Burnie for 2010, playing seemingly unaffected by the amputation.
